Principals’ Message

A very warm welcome to Hackham East Primary School.

We are a mid-sized school located in the Southern Suburbs approximately 30 kms from Adelaide CBD, with a current enrolment of 260 students from Reception (Foundation) to Year 6.

The school opened in 1973 and we are looking forward to our 50th Birthday celebrations throughout 2023.

All that we do at Hackham East is embedded in our foundations of Collaboration, High Expectations and Quality Learning for all.

We have a stable and committed staff who cater for the educational, social and emotional development of each of our students, with the goal to support each child to reach their full potential. We place emphasis and focus on building strong relationships with students and families.

We are a Play is the Way school that implements a behaviour education approach to support every individual child to ‘do the right thing because it is the right thing to do,’ and to show our Golden Rule of, ‘treat others as you would like to be treated.’

We regularly use Play is the Way games to support our students to practice and display our School Values of – Friendliness, Good Manners, Courage, Tolerance, Persistence/Resilience and Compassion an all aspects of their school learning.

There are many exciting features and programs that we offer and I invite you to browse through this website to investigate the learning undertaken by our students.

We welcome feedback from our community. If you have questions or suggestions for improvement, please feel free to seek one of the leadership team out to have a chat, or catch up with one of our Governing Council Representatives.

I look forward to you visiting us, so that you too can see the beautiful physical grounds and classrooms and experience the collaborative and positive environment that is our Hackham East ‘village.’
